The City of Kawartha Lakes is a friendly community in the heart of
Central Ontario's picturesque agricultural and vacation country. Whether
you ride a road bike, a mountain bike, or something in between, even a
tandem or a recumbent, we have cycling routes that will take you along
the Trent Severn Waterway or an abandoned railway line . . .through
fields, forests, and wetlands . . .and into our many historic towns and
villages. Join us in our cycling adventures and take advantage of all
the benefits the Kawartha Cycling Club can offer:

August 24, 2010
The Ontario Mountain Bike Championships were held on Sunday August 22nd at the Woodnewton cycling trails(near Durham Forest) . KCC rider Dave Girolametto finished in 2nd place, 24 seconds behind the leader, Dr. Scott Thompson of Owen Sound.
And Dave had this interesting insight at the event, which might be of value to others doing competition events:
"Before the race I was initially all stressed about trying to make the podium, but then I decided just to go fast and have fun.
It all worked out just fine, when I removed the stress."

There is no doubt that the strong link between exercise and good
health has contributed to the rapid growth of cycling today. It's hard
to beat when it comes to promoting our own well-being, as well as that
of the planet we depend upon and that depends upon us - behaving
responsibly.
The KCC prides itself on the social element that seems so integral to cycling, and to cyclists at all levels and of all ages. You'll find there are already many in the club who share your particular interest in, if not your obsession with bicycling.
