A KCC customized version of Scott Murison's plan.
Welcome to our second newsletter for 2008. We are now well into the cycling year and our organized rides have started or are about to start – check out the times below or on our website at www.kawarthacyclingclub.com.
Two successful kick-off meetings have been held. The clubs KCC night, hosted by Deb and Mike, took place on March 29th and included full candle light from ~8 to 9 PM in recognition of Earth Hour. The Fenelon Falls Freewheelers enjoyed a great evening on April 7 hosted by Zita and Brian Devan. Several folks completed their membership forms and the newly designed cycling Jersey’s and pants were a hit.
Our membership fee goes up to $45 on April 15. To take advantage of the reduced $40 price please fill out the forms and submit the fee payable to the Kawartha Cycling Club, 3531 Highway 7, Omemee, ON K0L2W0 prior to that date. Some have completed the forms but have not made payment – please do so prior to the 15th. Check out our web page to download the forms and contact information.
We continue to offer a $10 per item discount when you order and pay prior to April 15. Please note full payment is due with the order to receive this discount. Some have ordered but not paid. Please pay by April 15 to receive this discount. Payment can be made at Spokes for Folks or by forwarding your payment to the Kawartha Cycling Club, 3531 Highway 7, Omemee, ON K0L2W0. Sales have been strong so we should see plenty of Kawartha Cycling Club Jerseys on display this season. You can order by contacting us through the website or calling Mike at 374-4633.
First ride starts at 10AM on April 30. Meet at the Fenelon Falls curling club. Don’t forget your helmet. Contact Brian Devan at 328-2215 for more information or check out the website.

This KCC ride group tries to get out at least twice a week, usually Wednesday afternoon and Sunday afternoon; however weather or rider availability may cause the day or time to shift on occasion. If you would like to be on the e-mail ride notification list (which also carries news about Canadian elite cyclists in competition), please contact Brian McFadzen via e-mail at BrianMcFadzen@kawarthacyclingclub.com or by phone at 793-2393.
Our first time trial is scheduled for April 15 at 6:15pm sign-up with first rider off at 6:30. Meet in front of the United Church in Cambray. Please have your memberships with you. Non-members cannot participate. Membership cards for those whose primary club is the Kawartha CC. can be picked up at Spokes For Folks. For more information please contact Mike Gorman at 374-4633 or e-mail at admin@kawarthacyclingclub.com.
We are holding regular meetings. The dates are posted on our website at www.kawarthacyclingclub.com. You are most welcome to submit suggestions to your executive or come to the meetings.
Please note our new brochure is available on the website. It would help the club if you would forward the brochure to any potential new members. Thanks.
Our very own Brian Simpson http://www.kawarthacyclingclub.com/member_profiles/brian_simpson.htm will be riding across Canada in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. For more information check out http://www.NationalKidsCancerRide.com This is an incredible journey and Brian is looking for donations.
